Setpoint Services performed residential air conditioning repair on a Bryant heat pump system at a home in Austin, Texas. The Bryant 214DNA024-A R-410A system had previously been diagnosed with a grounded compressor and failed control board, requiring replacement of both major components to restore reliable cooling operation.
Our HVAC technician returned with the replacement compressor and control board, recovered approximately 5 lbs of R-410A refrigerant, removed the grounded compressor and defective control board, and installed the new components. Temporary control bypass wiring that had been used during diagnosis was removed, and the air conditioning system was rewired through the new control board to restore normal factory operation.
As part of the residential AC repair, the outdoor condenser coil was thoroughly washed and cleaned. After installation of the new compressor, the refrigeration system was pulled into a deep vacuum and recharged to the manufacturer's factory charge of 5.6 lbs of R-410A refrigerant. The system was then started and tested to verify proper cooling operation.
Final operating readings were approximately 144 PSI suction pressure and 450 PSI discharge pressure with a 22°F temperature differential. The new Bryant compressor and control board were functioning properly, and the home AC system was operating normally at the completion of service.
