Setpoint Services performed residential ice machine preventive maintenance on a Scotsman SCCP50MB-1SS undercounter ice machine at a home in Austin, Texas. Inspection found calcium and mineral accumulation throughout the internal components along with a condenser coil heavily impacted with dirt and debris.

The condenser coil was thoroughly cleaned, internal ice machine components were removed and soaked to eliminate calcium buildup, and the components were rinsed and sanitized. The ice bin was also cleaned and sanitized, followed by a complete ice machine cleaning cycle and sanitizing cycle.

The water supply was inspected and found to have no dedicated water filtration system. Installation of an appropriate ice machine water filter was recommended to reduce future calcium and mineral buildup and improve incoming water quality. After maintenance, the Scotsman ice machine was reassembled, returned to service, and verified to be operating normally and producing ice.
