Commercial walk-in freezer repair completed for an Eggs Up Grill location. Setpoint Services replaced a failed walk-in freezer condensate drain-line heater to correct a freezing issue at the evaporator drain. The existing insulation was removed, and a new drain-line heater was installed and secured to the copper condensate drain line. The drain line was then reinsulated, secured with tape and zip ties, refastened to the walk-in freezer wall, and the new heater was connected to the evaporator. After installation, the defrost clock was tested and confirmed operational. The new drain-line heater was measured at 0.23 amps, confirming that the heater was operating. The walk-in freezer was returned to service and verified to be operating normally.

Commercial Trane air-cooled chiller diagnostic and condenser cleaning performed in Austin, Texas. Setpoint Services was called to service a Trane Series R chiller with Circuit A down and a history of high discharge/head-pressure conditions. Circuit B was operational upon arrival. After resetting the chiller alarms, Circuit A was brought back online for diagnostic testing. As Circuit A loaded, discharge pressure increased rapidly. Inspection found the condenser coils heavily impacted with dirt and debris, restricting airflow and preventing proper heat rejection. The condenser fan motors were verified operational, and the condenser coils were thoroughly deep cleaned. Following cleaning, both refrigeration circuits were operated and monitored under load. Circuit A and Circuit B were operating with similar pressures and subcooling characteristics. Discharge pressure was approximately 300 PSI, liquid-line temperature was approximately 113°F, and the sight glasses were full. Chilled-water performance improved substantially. Entering/leaving evaporator water temperatures improved from approximately 79°F / 74.7°F on arrival to approximately 52°F / 44°F, producing an approximately 8°F temperature differential. Circuit A was successfully restored to operation. Replacement of both liquid-line filter-drier cores and the associated gasket/seals was recommended, followed by rechecking pressures, subcooling, and liquid-line condition.

Commercial Hoshizaki ice machine service completed in Round Rock, Texas. Setpoint Services serviced a Hoshizaki KML-500MAJ ice maker at Prime Controls, installing a new condensate pump and water filter manifold and performing a complete deep cleaning and sanitizing of the ice machine. The new condensate pump was installed and connected to the bathroom sink drain, including extending the drain line and wiring the pump into the ice machine electrical system. A new water filter manifold was also installed and connected to the ice machine water supply. All water and drain connections were tested for proper operation and checked for leaks. The Hoshizaki ice machine was then disassembled for a thorough cleaning and sanitizing. Calcium and mineral buildup was removed from the ice channels, and the ice storage bin was cleaned and sanitized. After reassembly, the machine completed a full ice-making cycle successfully. The condensate pump, drain system, water filter system, and ice machine were all operating properly with no leaks at completion.

Performed commercial HVAC preventative maintenance on two split-system air conditioning units at Domino's Pizza in Manor, TX. Replaced all air filters, cleared condensate drain lines, checked refrigerant operating pressures, recorded supply and return air temperatures, and inspected electrical and mechanical components for proper operation. Replaced two run capacitors on the York condensing unit and one run capacitor on the Carrier condensing unit. Both systems exhibited normal refrigerant pressures and proper temperature splits following maintenance. Also responded to an emergency walk-in cooler service call after the cooler lost temperature. Upon arrival, found the electrical disconnect switched off. Restored power, monitored system operation, and verified the walk-in cooler pulled down to the proper operating temperature before leaving. Observed a flashing liquid-line sight glass indicating the refrigeration system remains low on refrigerant, confirming an active refrigerant leak. Recommend scheduling a leak search and repair to prevent continued refrigerant loss, additional service calls, and potential product loss.

Completed the quoted commercial fryer repair at Nickel City Bar in Austin, TX by replacing the defective high-limit safety switch on a Pitco SE14-S electric fryer. During operational testing, the fryer tripped the existing 60-amp breaker when all heating elements energized. One heating-element leg was temporarily disconnected, allowing the fryer to operate while drawing approximately 53 amps. The fryer was returned to service in a reduced-load condition. Recommend verifying the electrical circuit sizing, disconnect, conductors, and overcurrent protection before reconnecting the remaining heating element to restore full heating capacity.

Performed commercial rooftop HVAC preventative maintenance on a Trane package unit at Smoothie King in Pflugerville, TX. The evaporator and condenser coils were thoroughly cleaned to restore proper airflow and cooling efficiency. The evaporator coil was found heavily impacted with dirt and debris, and two 20" × 30" × 2" air filters were replaced due to excessive contamination. Replaced a failed 7.5 µF condenser fan motor run capacitor, inspected the blower drive belt, verified proper belt tension, and confirmed the unit is equipped with an AX26 belt. Cleaned the unit cabinet and accessible interior components before performing final operational testing. Verified a 25°F temperature split with normal R-410A operating pressures, confirming the rooftop HVAC system was operating properly upon completion of preventative maintenance.
