On April 1, 2026, Setpoint Services technician Han Li responded to a commercial kitchen in south Austin
to address a reported issue with a Scotsman commercial ice machine. The client reported that the drain
line connected to the ice machine bin had become clogged, causing standing water to accumulate inside
the unit.

Issue Diagnosed

A clogged ice machine drain line is a common but serious issue in commercial kitchens. When the drain
can’t properly carry water away from the ice bin, standing water builds up — creating conditions
