Setpoint Services completed a commercial refrigeration repair on a reach-in cooler at Tacobaby at Moontower Saloon, located at 10212 Menchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78748, after the customer reported the cooler was no longer maintaining proper temperature. Upon arrival, the evaporator fan motor was operating normally; however, both the condenser fan motor and compressor were inoperative. Electrical diagnostics revealed the power supply wiring feeding the condenser section had burned, causing a complete loss of power to the compressor and condenser fan motor.
Setpoint Services repaired and reconnected the damaged electrical wiring, restoring power to the condenser section. During the inspection, the condenser coil was found heavily contaminated with grease, oil, and debris, severely restricting airflow and reducing heat transfer efficiency. The condenser coil was thoroughly cleaned using commercial condenser coil cleaner to restore proper airflow and improve refrigeration performance.
After completing the electrical repair and condenser maintenance, the reach-in cooler was restarted and monitored through normal operation. The compressor and condenser fan motor resumed normal operation, and the refrigeration system successfully pulled the cabinet temperature below 40°F before departure, confirming the unit was cooling properly. The reach-in cooler was operating normally at the completion of service, helping restore reliable refrigeration for restaurant operations.
