Setpoint Services performed a commercial Manitowoc ice machine diagnostic service for a restaurant in Taylor, Texas after the customer reported the ice slab was freezing to the evaporator plate and failing to release during the harvest cycle. The machine's fault history contained Long Freeze, T3 Fault, and T4 Fault alarms. A complete inspection confirmed the evaporator plate was clean, the water distribution system was operating correctly, and water flow across the evaporator was even with no restrictions. The ice thickness probe was adjusted to produce a slightly thicker ice bridge for improved harvest performance. The ice machine was monitored through multiple complete freeze and harvest cycles while recording refrigerant pressures, cycle times, and overall operation. Refrigeration pressures remained within normal operating ranges, ice production was consistent, and the ice slab released properly during every harvest cycle. Manitowoc Technical Support was consulted, and based on the recorded fault history and successful testing, the remaining possible causes include the control board, harvest solenoid assembly, ice thickness probe, or T3/T4 temperature sensors. At the time of service, the complaint could not be duplicated, and the commercial ice machine was operating normally and producing ice properly upon departure. Customer was advised to continue monitoring the equipment and contact Setpoint Services if the issue returns.
