Setpoint Services diagnosed and repaired a commercial walk-in cooler refrigeration system at Kuppanna Indian Restaurant in Austin, Texas. Upon arrival, the evaporator coil was completely iced over due to a restricted liquid line filter drier and two refrigerant leaks in the evaporator coil. Both leaks were successfully repaired, and the restricted filter drier was replaced to restore proper refrigerant flow. The refrigeration system was pressure tested, evacuated to remove moisture and non-condensables, recharged with approximately 2 pounds of R-404A refrigerant, and thoroughly tested for proper operation. Final operating pressures were approximately 32 PSIG suction and 270 PSIG head pressure, with the walk-in cooler temperature steadily decreasing before departure, confirming normal cooling performance. Due to the age and condition of the existing Copeland condensing unit and Heatcraft evaporator, Setpoint Services recommended replacing the complete walk-in cooler refrigeration system as the most reliable long-term solution to avoid future refrigerant leaks and costly repairs. This service included commercial refrigeration leak repair, filter drier replacement, refrigerant recovery and recharge, pressure testing, evacuation, and system performance verification in Austin, Texas.
