Description of Work Performed

Arrived onsite to diagnose a Trane XR air conditioning system that was not operating. After approximately 2.5 hours of troubleshooting, located a failed condenser contactor coil that had shorted internally. The shorted contactor caused the low-voltage transformer to fail and also resulted in a blown control circuit fuse.

Replaced the failed contactor, replaced the damaged transformer, and installed a new control fuse. Verified proper low-voltage operation and restored communication through the control circuit.

Started and tested the system after repairs. Checked refrigerant pressures, electrical operation, and overall cooling performance. System is now operating normally and all readings were within manufacturer operating range at the time of departure.

Additional Notes

Diagnostic time associated with locating the failure was not billed, as troubleshooting had been performed during a previous preventative maintenance visit.
