Setpoint Services diagnosed and repaired a Polar Temp commercial ice merchandiser at Lake Austin Marina in Austin, Texas. The unit was running around 50°F with evaporator ice buildup caused by a failed Danfoss temperature controller that was not activating the defrost heaters. The failed controller was replaced, the condenser coil was cleaned to improve airflow and heat rejection, and an evaporator fan motor was restored to operation. Final testing confirmed the commercial refrigeration system was operating properly. The evaporator fan motors showed corrosion and should be monitored for potential future replacement.
