Featured Georgetown Job: Two Problems in One Cooler
September 2026 — Georgetown, TX
A Georgetown restaurant’s Glastender ST48-SF reach-in cooler wasn’t holding temperature. Our technician found a failed defrost clock and replaced it — but once defrost was working again, a second problem showed up: the compressor wouldn’t start.
Electrical testing showed 120 volts reaching the overload protector but nothing reaching the compressor’s common terminal. We replaced the failed starting components with a hard-start kit, and the compressor came up and ran normally. Final pressures on the R-134a system were about 17 PSI suction and 127 PSI discharge, and the cooler pulled down to temperature before we left.
