Setpoint Services performed commercial ice machine repair and deep cleaning on a Manitowoc IYT0420A-161 at Night Owl Bar in Round Rock, Texas. The customer reported intermittent shutdowns and recurring water-related fault codes. Diagnostic testing identified five E20 Water Fault errors and one E5 Long Freeze error. After consulting Manitowoc technical support, the water-level/ice-thickness sensor was identified as the likely cause of the intermittent shutdowns, while buildup in the water-distribution system was suspected of contributing to the long freeze condition.
The faulty sensor was replaced, and the ice machine underwent extensive cleaning and sanitizing. Internal water-distribution tubing was removed and thoroughly cleaned to eliminate accumulated debris and buildup. The evaporator area, water circuit, water-distribution components, and ice storage bin were also cleaned and sanitized. Following repairs, the Manitowoc ice machine was tested through more than three complete freeze and harvest cycles, with normal ice production and harvesting verified. The machine was operating normally at departure, with continued monitoring recommended for any recurrence of E20 or E5 fault codes.
