Featured Pflugerville Job: A Rooftop Unit Running at 500 PSI

June 2026 — Pflugerville, TX

A Pflugerville martial arts gym called about a Ruud rooftop air conditioner that wasn’t keeping up. Our technician found the system running with discharge pressure above 500 PSIG and suction pressure near 20 PSIG — the signature of a severe restriction, and the kind of strain that destroys a compressor if it keeps running.

The cause was a plugged liquid line filter drier. We recovered the refrigerant, replaced the restricted drier and a leaking Schrader valve, then pressure tested the circuit to find and repair the refrigerant leak. Before recharging, the system went through a triple evacuation and deep vacuum to pull out moisture.

A rooftop unit that runs but doesn’t cool is often telling you something expensive is about to happen. Catching it early is the difference between a filter drier and a compressor. More on our commercial HVAC repair.

Preventive Maintenance for Pflugerville Businesses

A lot of our Pflugerville work starts as maintenance and turns up the real problem — a heavily loaded evaporator coil, a failing capacitor, a compressor drawing low amps. Regular coil cleaning, filter changes, and pressure checks catch those before they become a mid-shift breakdown. See our preventive maintenance plans.

We also serve nearby Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, and Taylor.
