Featured Round Rock Job: Ice Jamming the Bin
September 2026 — Round Rock, TX
A Round Rock restaurant called because its Manitowoc IDT1500N ice machine was making ice so thick it jammed against the edge of the bin during harvest. Our technician cleaned the water channel and water pump, then reset the ice thickness sensor to about 9/64″ so the machine would produce thinner ice that drops cleanly.
We also cleaned the condenser coil and checked refrigerant pressures, which were in the normal range. During testing the machine briefly threw an E20 water fault and went into Safe Mode, then recovered on its own after the harvest cycle. We watched it run, confirmed normal operation before leaving, and flagged the E20 fault for the owner to keep an eye on.
It’s a common problem: ice thickness drifts, and an ice machine that “works” can still be jamming, wasting water, and wearing itself out. More on our commercial ice machine service.
