Setpoint Services performed commercial kitchen exhaust hood service on a CaptiveAire NCA14FA rooftop exhaust fan at Lamppost Coffee in Round Rock, Texas after the customer reported an abnormal noise while the exhaust system was operating. Inspection found the AX26 cogged V-belt heavily worn and loose. The existing belt was tightened, eliminating the abnormal noise and restoring normal fan operation.

The CaptiveAire exhaust hood control system was also inspected after a Zone 1 Overload Trip error was discovered. The control history contained 32 recorded occurrences of the same fault. The error was reset and the exhaust system was returned to operation. The fan motor was operating at approximately 1.18 amps. Replacement of the heavily worn AX26 belt was recommended, along with continued monitoring for any recurrence of the overload fault.
