Setpoint Services diagnosed a commercial walk-in cooler refrigeration failure at Black Rock Coffee involving a Heatcraft/Larkin condensing unit, model LCH0005MBAZZA00000. During diagnostic testing, the compressor demonstrated inadequate pumping performance and failed to properly reduce suction pressure during a pump-down test, indicating compressor failure.
The repair scope includes recovering the existing refrigerant, replacing the failed compressor and liquid-line filter drier, and thoroughly cleaning the evaporator coil to improve airflow and heat transfer. Refrigerant connections will be brazed with nitrogen flowing, followed by pressure testing, deep evacuation, and recharging with the specified refrigerant. Following installation, the system will be tested for proper compressor amperage, refrigerant pressures, and walk-in cooler temperature pull-down to verify cooling performance.
