Setpoint Services provided ongoing emergency industrial chiller service for a HYFRA Sigma34-S process chiller at Muto Technology in Austin, Texas. The chiller developed a severe active refrigerant and compressor oil leak at the condenser coil inlet/discharge connection. Because the replacement condenser coil had already been ordered but was still in transit, repeated temporary service visits were required to keep this critical process cooling system operational while awaiting the permanent condenser replacement.
The active condenser leak caused continuing loss of R-410A refrigerant, requiring repeated pressure checks, refrigerant charging, reservoir temperature monitoring, and operational testing under load. As the condenser failure progressed, compressor oil began escaping through the leaking connection and accumulating around the chiller. Factory-approved PVE compressor oil was added as required to protect the refrigeration circuit while temporary operation continued.
Multiple emergency and after-hours visits were performed as refrigerant loss increased. Approximately 20 pounds of R-410A refrigerant were consumed across the temporary service visits documented on this invoice. Setpoint Services continued coordinating with the manufacturer's distributor regarding the replacement HYFRA condenser coil and requested expedited next-day air shipment once the replacement coil reached the distributor.
These repairs and refrigerant additions were temporary measures intended to maintain industrial process cooling until the failed condenser coil could be permanently replaced.
