Setpoint Services completed a full walk-in cooler refrigeration system replacement at Lone Star Bar in Jonestown, Texas. The existing condensing unit and evaporator were removed and replaced with new Trenton refrigeration equipment. The existing refrigerant lineset was flushed with RX11 cleaner, refrigerant piping and electrical connections were completed, the TXV sensing bulb was secured, the suction line was reinsulated, and the evaporator condensate drain was rebuilt for the new equipment configuration.
The refrigeration system was evacuated to 500 microns and verified to hold vacuum before being charged with 4 lb 14 oz of R-448A refrigerant. Final operating pressures were approximately 73 PSI suction and 258 PSI discharge with a full, clear sight glass. The evaporator controller was programmed for a 30-minute defrost every six hours, and the system was tested and verified to be operating normally. The walk-in cooler door latch was also adjusted for proper closing, with repair or replacement of the loose door gasket recommended to improve the seal.
